Christina Grenard

Founder and Creative Principal :: Blue Ink Syndicate

Christina Grenard is a founder and creative principal of Blue Ink Syndicate – an entertainment company providing live performance art and show production, interactive media design, web marketing, branding strategy and digital film production.

Ms. Grenard’s background includes digital filmmaking, show production, interactive media design and marketing, graphic design and soundtrack production. Coupled with her Fortune 150 business experience, she has earned the ability to keep her ventures on a leading edge of an ever-changing entertainment and marketing landscape to provide the best solutions for audiences and clients.

Ms. Grenard formally began her creative career in the mid-nineties as an early adopter of digital filmmaking and the Internet as a fundamental force in media distribution. It was then that she met her creative collaborator and future business partner James G. Williams.

In 1999, Ms. Grenard and Mr. Williams founded Ambient Blue, a digital film company. Since then, she has produced, written, and directed independent digital films such as Sparkle and The Warning: an audience-interactive online film where viewers vote on key plot points following each episode. She has also written, produced and directed educational, training and marketing videos for clients such as SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Travelers Aid as well as her creative ventures Splash!, Artists Ink and Blue Ink Syndicate.

In 2005, Ambient Blue expanded its services to include interactive marketing and design. Utilizing her years of experience developing Internet content and new media marketing techniques, Ms. Grenard led the design and produced the new Sea World and Busch Gardens animal information Web microsite, Connections. The site’s Web 2.0 environment includes blogs, online video content, interactive Flash elements and games, and reaches 8 million in annual site visitation.

It was also in 2005 that Ms. Grenard and Mr. Williams began a creative partnership with Southern California fine artist and entertainer Stephen Fishwick when he asked them to produce a live art show called Splash! Paint in Motion. The team of Grenard and Williams also focused their digital film, interactive marketing and design skills to create the Splash! brand, online presence and marketing campaign.

In a creative expansion of business structure, Ms. Grenard linked a collective of over 200 independent performance artists with the Ambient Blue Creative Corporation to form the Blue Ink Syndicate with co-founders James G. Williams and Stephen Fishwick. This new company offers clients a single source for booking artists, creating marketing campaigns, and production of videos, websites and live event productions.

Recently, Ms. Grenard wrote, co-produced, and directed Splash! Faces of the Wild–a live art experience that premiered at the World Famous San Diego Zoo in June of 2007. In addition, she co-composed the Faces of the Wild Soundtrack and designed a line of merchandise and apparel featuring artwork by Stephen Fishwick.

Christina Grenard graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Art with study in the areas of graphic design and art history. She has taught a variety of curriculum at the university level including The Art Institute – San Diego, and San Diego State University. She has also developed and taught curriculum in the private sector for clients such as Marriott, Viejas and The American Language Institute.

Blue Ink Syndicate’s partial client list includes Anheuser-Busch Companies, Microsoft, Disney, Coca-cola, QUALCOMM, Volkswagen, Hyatt Hotels, and State Farm.

What’s In a Name?

Ambient Blue was chosen because that is Christina Grenard and James Williams’ favorite type of lighting. Blue Ink Syndicate is a combination of the founders former companies.

The name takes the “Blue” from Ambient Blue Creative and the “Ink” from Artists Ink. Syndicate represents the many artists they collaborate and represent.
